How it plays
Mancala is one of the oldest board games there is. This is Kalah, the version most people know: six pits a side, a store at each end, and seeds in every pit.
- Sow. On your turn, lift all the seeds from one of your pits and drop them one at a time round the board, into your own store but never your opponent's.
- Go again. If your last seed lands in your store, you take another turn.
- Capture. If your last seed lands in an empty pit on your side, it takes every seed in the pit facing it, and all of them go to your store.
- Count. When either side runs out of seeds, the other player banks what is left on theirs. The fuller store takes the round.
What a room adds
- Your choice of seeds. Play with three, four or six seeds a pit, and change it between rounds.
- Moves you can follow. Each move is sown out seed by seed, and the last move stays marked.
- Round after round. A room keeps its two players and a running score, and the opening move alternates.
- Spectators. Anyone else who opens the room's link watches the match.
It plays on a phone as well as a desktop. The game is in testing while it is played in.
