How it plays
It is the future as the 1980s pictured it, and the factory's robots have turned on their makers. One to four players hold its walled loading yard, seen from above, while robots come in through the hatches on every side. Move with the keys, aim with the mouse and hold the button to fire. Each wave is bigger than the last, and a short break between waves lets everyone get ready for the next. The run ends when nobody is left standing, and its result is the wave you reached.
- Together, not against each other. Everyone in the room is on the same side, and your shots pass through your friends.
- Down, not out. A player who runs out of health goes down. Stand beside them for a few seconds to get them back up, and the break gets everyone up.
- Six kinds of robot. Slow worker drones from the start, then small, quick spider-bots, scouts on wheels, gunners that keep their distance and fire plasma bolts, heavy loaders and bombers that self-destruct when shot or when they reach you.
- What they drop. Robots sometimes leave an ammo box, and now and then a gun: a scattergun, a pulse SMG or a rail rifle that shoots through a line of them. You always keep the sidearm, which never runs out.
- Play alone or join late. A run can be played solo, and a friend who opens the link during one takes a seat at the next break.
Playing it
It needs a keyboard and a mouse, so it plays on a desktop, not a phone. This is an early version: the yard and its controls are still being built, and its balance hasn't been tuned.
